SETMI™ CHARACTERS/META-GIZMOS

CAPTAIN ROB: Captain/Chief Recording Engineer of XH-1 and responsible for the entire mission and the crew. Captain Rob is also in charge of mapping the entire musical cosmos. Loves to cook, and has created Mach IV Music Pizzas and a new line of tasty fresh fruit MUSIC JAMS.

ZOTL: As a young Jivaro Indian his village and family was destroyed. Adopted by a Cal Tech astronomer and his concert pianist wife. ZOTL is in charge of Guidance System of the XH-1 and is a cosmologist/botanist/drummer techno-shaman, and only man capable of guiding the XH-1 through harmonic time quadrixes and up to the Nth Dimension of MusicHyperspace. Every night ZOTL goes to the XH-1 garden and plays his drums and listens to the plants as they teach him new harmonic knowledge

DR. GIZMO: Inventor and designer of the XH-1. Had bat ear transplant as young man to improve his hearing and began a long career of pioneering the exploration of music hyperspace. While working in his lab with a prototype of his new MUSIC HYPERSPACE DETECTION TECHNOLOGY he began to detect what he believed to be THE TWANG BEFORE THE BIG BANG. Convinces NASA to help in building of XH-1. The XH-1 is built and grown in the rain forest of Brazil by an international consortium.

The XH-1 is a self-sustaining home for musician cosmologists who will be taking a very long trip into the deepest recesses of music space/time.

Dr. SNAFU™: Arch enemy of SETMI and the XH-1. Master of chaos, disorder, dysfunction, the man who is responsible for everything that goes wrong in the universe, especially at rock concerts and recording sessions. Very active in politics. Introduced Monica to Bill Clinton. Dr. Snafu is hard at work developing a new recording process that filters out all of the emotion from music, and believes that musicians should have better manner and wear suits. Dr. Snafu’s also leads the evil Saran Gang, and is conspiring to get control of the XH-1 with his evil spy, the ultra-thin, The Letterman. Dr. Snafu wants his record label, The Swiss Rock and Roll Elevator Music Company to be the dominant force in the music industry.

THE DARK VIBE: A mysterious dark infectious harmonic force that captures musicians and sends them into the black abyss of self-destruction: the Non-Nebulosity of the Inverting Harmonic Nebulae. Appears often in Internet chat rooms.

THE Nth DIMENSION OF MUSIC HYPER-SPACE™: Beyond the constraints of three dimensional music experience, with its associated perceptual boundaries is the Nth Dimension of Music HyperSpace where the boundaries of "normal" music existence dissolve, and the subject/object music relationship inverts, so that the listener becomes the music, and the music becomes the listener and it all merges with THE ONE QUANTUM HARMONIC WHICH IS MANY. At this dimension we are on the music superhighway to The Twang Before The Big Bang, where we can resolve the conundrum of the quantum music singularity.

MUSIC HYPER SPACE TECHNOLOGY™: This advanced form of music technology is so sensitive that it can detect the Twang before the Big Bang, and can also be tuned to MUH: Mnemonic Ultramemic Hyperharmonic© ( the harmonic quantum mechanics of the neural synapses of the brain) . TCQHC: TIME CONUNDRUM QUANTUM HARMONIC COMPUTER™: Developed by Dr. Gizmo for the XH-1. This technology can only work while the XH-1 is traveling in music hyperspace. The Time Conundrum Quantum Harmonic Computer can teletransport any musician who has ever lived right into the XH-1’s recording studio so that musicians can play with the past masters. The reason that the musician formerly known as Prince records in the XH-1 is so that he can play with Beethoven who loves the slide guitar.

THE ONE QUANTUM HARMONIC WHICH IS MANY:© The de-materialized unifying music force of the Cosmos. The reason that "normal" cosmologists have not been able to detect this presence is because their spectrum analyzers are not tuned properly. This is the quantum music life force in all living things. This is the music spirit that existed before mind and created it. This is the force that put the bomp in the bomp she bomp. This is the meta-exogenous neural transmitter responsible for the metamutations of modern mind...

THE SARAN GANG/SLUG SQUADRON: Financed by the villainous Dr. Snafu the Saran Gang, and their leader Velveeta, are trying to clean up the music industry Though they are disguised as golfers in their evil powder blue polyester leisure suits, they operate a squadron of slime covered methane powered jet planes that look exactly like slugs. The Slug Squadron secretes a powerful acidic slime that eats away at the XH-1’s living outer skin. The Saran’s hide their identity by hanging out at golf clubs, and in the crowds at golf tournaments.

MONA KONA: Hawaiian National Women’s Surfing Champion, graduated from Vassar with a degree in oceanography. Ex-captain in US Navy Seals. First ever to surf (1) non-stop from San Francisco to New York city through the Panama Canal (2) down the Mississippi (3) up the Amazon river and (4) down the Nile. Master of "Mind Surfing". Skilled pilot who uses her surfer plane, BEACH BUM and her crew of ATS, Advanced Tactical Surfers to thwart Dr. Snafu’s campaign to destroy the beaches of the world.

GAIAZOOLA™: Ex-Sports Illustrated bathing suit model Apache drummer custodian of XH-1’s forest, Keeper of the Sacred Plant wisdom. Body is completely tattooed.

JAMAICA AIR FORCE ACES: THE RAGGAE LIGHTENING SQUADRON™: Considered the finest fighter pilots in the world and now stationed aboard the XH-1, they fly hybrid hot-rodded double supercharged nitro-methane P-38 Lightenings which are painted their very distinctive Rasta color scheme. These hot rod P-38s are equipped with the latest laser guided music bombs which the Raggae Aces drop on battle zones. When these bombs explode a heavy hot blanket of music covers the fighting troops and they start to dance and make friends with their enemies. The Raggae Aces transport musicians back and forth to the XH-1 and protect the XH-1 from attacks from the Slug fighter squadron.

THE AXE MAN™: A dark mysterious music-man warrior who carries a double headed mediaeval Fender music axe. The Axe Man is one of the few musicians who has struggled with The Dark Vibe and the Music Anti-Matter and survived. The Axe Man sleeps during the day in a very large guitar case, and prowls at night looking for his enemies. Armed only with his Axe, which he plays with his band AXE™ he assault bad sounding recording studios, chops off the heads of Sarans...ending their misery and sending them to THE ONE QUANTUM HARMONIC WHICH IS MANY. Wants the head of Dr. Snafu, but there are rumors that Dr. Snafu is really his father...but nobody knows for sure.

THE RAPZOIDS™: Fearsome gang of black music warriors from the future, who live in a world of urban disaster, and anarchy. Protect the citizens from marauding evil forces and drug dealers. Hate Dr. Snafu.

THE LETTERMAN™: The ultimate spy working for Dr. Snafu. A paper thin evil man who can turn himself into a letter for fax. He is probably on your desk now, listening to your every word.

NOBU™: Son of master Samurai sword maker, martial arts expert, high wire trapeze artist and in charge of the XH-1 body structure.

THE WRENCHER BROTHERS™: The awesome mechanical genius brothers who are in charge of all of the electro-mechanical systems aboard the XH-1 which includes diesel, rocket, harmonic plasma, and solar battery systems. Also maintain all of the squadrons of planes, cars, aerobikes, skateboards and surfboard.

UFMOS™: UNIDENTIFIED FLYING MUSICAL OBJECTS are quantums of musical energy that ExtraTerrestrial Musical Intelligence have been sending down to earth since March 14, 1947. UFMOs are a form of dematerialized ExtraTerrestrial musical intelligence/music brain virus (which explains why they can’t be detected by radar) which after a number of years of spreading themselves around finally erupted in the 1950s into a memonic mind virus called roll and roll . UFMOs appeared right after the first atomic explosions because higher forms of music intelligence wanted to prevent the destruction of humans.

SOME SCENES

SCENE ONE: It is 1592. We see a bright red Sun setting behind the stone temple rising above the tropical forest. We hear the roar of the Jaguar and call of the parrots and now we hear the ceremonial drums and flutes playing.

It is night and we are standing on top of the stone Aztec temple and we are looking at a gathering of high priests who are looking down at the torch lit square filled with thousands from the town. We see behind the priests, drummers are beating their rhythms, and we focus on the face of one young drummer. The head priest holds up to the sky his obsidian knife and we see the other priests drag their human sacrifice, a Spanish soldier to the alter. The priest raises his knife and we hear the "thunk" as the knife plunges into the soldier’s chest and we see the priest’s hand yank out the still throbbing heart and hold it up to the sky and the crowd cheers and the drumming gets louder..we see the face of our young drummer smile and grow more intense.

SCENE TWO: It is 1980. From a position high in a tree we see gigantic bulldozers clearing the jungle. One our heroes. ZOTL, who is now only seven years old, and the son of a Jivaro Indian shaman, has been collecting honey and is watching the forest being destroyed.

We see a raid on his village by the army and everyone is killed....except Zotl.

SCENE THREE: Years later we see Zotl sitting in a classroom at Cal Tech studying quantum physics. The class ends and he bicycles to an old warehouse and meets up with his band members and starts to jam.

SCENE FOUR: We see Dr. Gizmo in his astronomic laboratory doing a three dimensional spectral analysis and as he looks at the beating pulses on the screen he turns on the amplifier and he hears a very faint twang..... or is a heart beat?

SCENE FIVE: We see Dr. Gizmo giving a lecture entitled ‘Quantum Harmonics of Musical Intelligence" to a packed audience at Cal Tech, and we notice Zotl in the audience. He announces, "This will be my last lecture because I am taking an extended leave of absence to work on a special project, so I wanted to make it special for you. Using computer modeling I took the "music center" of the human brain and simulated what would happen if we could lower the electrical resistance in the neural synapses....meaning that our brain could process and create music more efficiently. Then I connected this new high speed simulated music brain to my synthesizer and this is what I got".

Dr. Gizmo walks over to the tape recorder and pushes the start button, and a sound that no one has ever heard before rocks the auditorium...Students panic because they think they were levitating.

SCENE SIX: Zolt is talking on the phone to his parents who adopted him. They tell him that they just received a very large carton, addressed to him, filled with old stone tablets with writing that they don’t understand.

SCENE SEVEN: From our supply helicopter high in the sky we see a very large clearing in the rain forest and a hangar, four football fields long, covered with a transparent cover. There are many large building and thousands of people at work, building and growing the XH-1. We can see through the transparent cover the superstructure of the XH-1 and gaze upon all of the machinery, machinery, technology, living organs and plants being assembled.

Dr. Gizmo, Captain Rob and ZOTL are working with the international consortium of biologists, scientist, cosmologists, bioengineers, medical researchers, electro-mechanical engineers, rocket and plasma engineers who are building XH-1, the world’ first hybrid living biomachine space ship for deep probes of music hyper space...The Twang Before the Big Bang is calling!

As the months go by we see the XH-1 is literally growing, as its lungs, heart, nervous system, glandular system is integrated into its electro-mechanical-computer systems. We see its outer skin beginning to grow over its complex super structure. We see the hundreds of different living quarters for the musicians being built.

SCENE EIGHT: We are in Dr. Snafu’s secret DISCOMBOBULARITY LABS and we see him, as he plays with a zit, speaking to his spy, The Letterman (the spy as thin as a letter)..." I want to know where and when the XH-1 is going to make its test flight, so I can be ready with a little surprise for the crew.

SCENE NINE: Six months later. The XH-1 is hooked up to the top of the Empire State Building while its crew is putting on a fund raising concert in New York City. A violent electric lightening storm erupts and the XH-1 is ripped from the Empire State Building and is drifting towards crashing into the Statue of Liberty. In the middle of the concert Captain Rob and ZOLT can hear the distress cries of the XH-1, as it heads toward impending disaster. The entire crew leaps on their aero-bikes and gets to the XH-1 just in the nick of time before it crashes into the Statue of Liberty, but just as they get control of the XH-1 they are attacked by the Slug Squadron. With the music of Bob Marley blasting, the squadron of P-38 Raggae Aces, drops from the belly of the XH-1 and counter-attacks the Slug fighters, dog fighting over the crowds in Coney Island, sending the slimy evil demons crashing to their doom into the waters off Coney Island.

We see Dr. Gizmo talking to the crew in the control room...."Think of the XH-1 as a young puppy...it needs to learn and be trained before it can protect itself, protect us and guide us in our journey. Before we take our first deep music space probe we must go through rigorous training together and learn how to bond, and communicate...we must tune into each other’s deepest harmonic intelligence. Captain Rob and Zolt will be leading us in deep guidance meditations".

SCENE TEN: Training Mission. We see the crew in the recording studio standing by the Time Conundrum Harmonic Quantum Computer, and we see Captain Rob type in BEETHOVEN...nothing happens, and then the door of the recording room slams open and out jumps a terrifying looking man who looks like he comes from the stone age, who looks around and runs over to the synthesizer and gets down with an awesome tune. Captain Rob and the entire crew is completely stunned and with a trembling voice, Captain Rob asks....."Beethoven, is that you?". The terrifying man answers in a laughing voice...."Who did you think it was, President Truman?"

Rob looks at the other crew members and then turns back to the terrifying man....and says, "But why do you look this way...it is sort of 1 million BC fashion look?"

Looking at Rob with a smile Beethoven responds....."Why not. I find when I dress this way and I play my synthesizer in parallel music universe XG6F, that the harmonies....are realer...I mean more authentic...but let’s stop all of this chatter and get to work". As Beethoven said that he hands sheet music to Rob and says, "Let’s try this...it is my 120th Symphony for Electric Guitars, Gourds, Zoolaphone and Violins in G sharp".
